It was Max Allegri’s first defeat this season, leaving Maurizio Sarri as the only unbeaten boss in Europe’s top five leagues. Sarri has not only succeeded in changing the way the Blues approach games he is still to lose having played 11 Premier League games, two matches in the Carabao Cup and three group stage fixtures in the Europa League. Sarri also has Chelsea second in the table in the race for the English title, and on course to stroll into the knock out stages of the Europa League. Chelsea play BATE on Thursday night and Maurizio Sarri’s men will be hoping to all-but wrap up the group with a positive result.
