Manchester United submitted a €40m bid for Lyon striker

(Image: AFP/Getty Images) Manchester United have submitted an opening bid for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele worth more than €40m, according to Goal. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to overhaul his failing squad at Old Trafford after a dismal end to the season in which United managed just two wins from their final 12 matches. Solskjaer has been keeping close tabs on Lyon forward Dembele and has asked United to strongly consider the 22-year-old Frenchman. Dembele has notched up 14 goals and four assists in Ligue 1 since completing a £20m switch from Lyon to Celtic last August.
