Manchester United set Harry Maguire fitness deadline ahead of Europa League final

Harry Maguire will train with the Manchester United team in Gdansk on Tuesday should he be fit for the Europa League final. Red Devils captain has been out for two weeks with an ankle ligament injury and is running out of time to lead his side out against Villarreal. Head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted Maguire is now unlikely to be fit for United's first final in three years, having missed four games since picking up the injury against Aston Villa. "Of course he wants to play, it will be up to the doctor to say how he is but he doesn’t look great. Ever the optimist I’m still hopeful for him," said Solskjaer. "He has to train on Tuesday when we’re over there [if he's to play], it’s not many days and I don’t expect him to be ready." His absence in Poland will be a major blow to United, with one of Eric Bailly or Axel Tuanzebe stepping in to partner Victor Lindelof.
