Manchester United renew interest in Atletico Madrid defender

Atletico Madrid are trying to tie down Diego Godin to a new contract-to fend off renewed interest from Manchester United. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho wanted Godin last summer, yet United are still interested for next summer. The Uruguayan and his representatives rejected United despite interest in a £20m deal and despite talks with Atletico he never actually signed a new deal. United want to get the 32-year-old for a knockdown price because of his age.
