Manchester United issued ultimatum over transfer target Raul Jimenez alternative

Manchester United have been interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez for quite a long time, however, now, they have identified an alternative for him- RB Leipzig's Timo Werner. Jimenez has been in a superb form since he joined Wolves from Benfica two years ago for record-breaking £32.6million and has followed up his 17-goal haul from last season with 22 in 44 appearances this term. The 29-year-old's impressive performances have attracted multiple admirers with United, Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Juventus said to be keen on signing him. Werner is another player, who has been attracting interest from the Red Devils and the club have reportedly held talks about signing him. The 24-year-old is likely to come cheaper than Jimenez with reports suggesting he has a buyout clause of £49million in his contract. However, according to Sky Sports, United have less than two weeks to activate that clause before it expires on June 15.
