Manchester United include youngster to first team squad

Manchester United have officially included Teden Mengi to their first-team squad. Last week Mengi had been promoted to the senior squad and the United website has uploaded his profile to the first-team section. The 18-year-old centre-back was an unused substitute in Tuesday night's Carabao Cup win at Luton Town but could make his first appearance of the season in next week's fourth-round tie away at Preston North End or Brighton. Head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has upgraded Mengi's squad number from 71 to 43 after he was included in the squad for the Europa League straight knockout phase in Cologne, having come on for his debut in the round-of-16 second leg win over LASK. "I’ve seen a massive improvement in my game, even just from watching the players and watching how everyone else does things and how I do things," Mengi told the club website. "It’s a lot faster and quicker. Everything is bigger, there’s bigger, more physical players. You’ve got to adapt quickly but it’s really good because you can learn a lot from the players around you which is good for me as I’m really young in the game. I’ve found it really beneficial for me."
