Manchester United are reported to be interested in re-signing Memphis Depay from Barcelona.
According to Sport, the Red Devils are ready to launch a January bid to bring the Netherlands international back to Old Trafford.
The 28-year-old joined the Premier League side from PSV in the 2015/16 campaign. During his two-year spell in Manchester, the forward scored seven goals and provided six assists in his 53 appearances.
After joining the La Liga side on a free transfer in 2021, Depay failed to find his regular place in the Catalan outfit. Therefore, Xavi could be open to terminating the player's contract in winter to get him off their wage bill.
Therefore, as journalist Florian Plettenberg reports, Erik ten Hag has entered the race with fellow rivals Arsenal and Newcastle to get Memphis' signature in the upcoming transfer window.
“He is also on the list of #MUFC,” he tweeted.
“We‘ve been told that Ten Hag can really imagine bringing him back. There is contact between all parties. Barca would even terminate the contract, desperately wants to save the salary.”
