Manchester City teammates' reaction to Kyle Walker performance

Manchester City players have shared their thoughts upon Kyle Walker's performance during the Champions League clash against Atalanta. The Blues were dominating after Raheem Sterling's opener goal. However, the City had to face Ederson's injury problem so that the goalkeeper was replaced by Claudio Bravo. The latter was sent off the game for bringing down Atalanta forward Josip Illic. Meanwhile, Atalanta managed to equalize the game score and the Citizens boss Pep Guardiola brought Kyle Walker into the action. The goalkeeper could keep the City from other goals of the opponents during his playing time. Speaking on Walkers' performance, Benjamin Mendy and Joao Cancelo praised him. Mendy told BT Sport: "Yeah I think tonight was a very tough game, we know it before the game and how we fight until the end to not keep a score. I say again thank you, Kyle, because it's very not easy to take this responsibility to be a goalkeeper and save the free-kick and it's one game we're going to remember it for when we go forward in the cup." Cancelo told Sky Sports: “It was a difficult moment, we needed someone to step up and Kyle did very well. After seeing the VAR, I think it’s impossible that the red card was given because he didn’t touch Ilicic at all." Other City players posted on their Twitter accounts.
