Manchester City man set to miss up to seven matches due to international commitments

Riyad Mahrez is expected to miss up to 7 matches for Manchester City as he's going to he represent his country at the start of 2022. The Africa Cup of Nations, usually shortened to AFCON, was originally scheduled to be played last summer. Mahrez who will captain the Algeria national team at the Africa Cup of Nations has been called up for the tournament, which means he will miss 5-7 consecutive games for City. The group stage solely will be enough to rule the 30-year-old out of Premier League matches against Brentford (A), Arsenal (A), Chelsea (H) and Southampton (A) and the FA Cup third round. If Algeria qualifies into the knock-out stages of the competition, which is considered highly likely, Pep Guardiola's man will also miss the fourth round of the FA Cup and February's home EPL match against Brentford.   Source - cityxtra Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
