Manchester City are reportedly in rush for AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer, according to
Calcio Mercato as relayed by
Sempre Milan.
The 22-year-old Algerian joined the Serie A side from Empoli for around £15 million last summer. This term he has made 22 league appearances for the club.
The player, who was named "Player of the Tournament" at last year’s Africa Cup of Nations, caught the eye of Pep Guardiola in spite of the City boss' insistence they will not go for a central midfielder this summer.
The report also claims Guardiola had a personal phone call, trying to convince Bennacer to join the Citizens this summer.
