Manchester City hope Sergio Aguero returns for Champions League restart in August

Pep Guardiola hopes Sergio Aguero will be back for Champions League restart in August. The Argentina international underwent knee surgery on Wednesday, which is expected to keep him out for the remainder of the domestic season. Guardiola has not ruled out the striker returning in time for the Champions League in August. He is even expected to play a part in the second leg of their round of 16 tie with Real Madrid. The City manager said: “Of course the impact is big, so to win Champions League you have to arrive in the best moment in the best condition as possible. So that is what we have to do. “We have to wait and hopefully he can help us against Madrid, and if we’re good enough to go through, maybe for the next rounds.
