Manchester City duo will miss Southampton clash, Pep Guardiola confirms

Manchester City duo Aymeric Laporte and John Stones are set to miss the club's Premier League match against Southampton, according to Pep Guardiola. The Citizens are currently sitting in 5th place in the league table and will be in action versus the Saints on Saturday. Ahead of the game, the City boss has met the media and provided a fitness update. "They have muscular injuries," Guardiola said when speaking about Laporte and Stones (via MEN). "Stones didn't play with us, played 90 minutes with the national team, and came back injured. Laporte came back with some disturbances, some niggles. He wanted to play against Leicester and made an extraordinary game but after that game the niggles were a bit higher and we didn't want to take a risk.
