Manchester City defender John Stones named "Best in the world"

Manchester City defender John Stones has been hailed as one of the best in the world in his position by Inter Milan legend Ivan Cordoba. The 25-year-old has impressed for the Citizens after joining for £50m from Everton back in 2016, but has had an inconsistent season this year where he has struggled to regain his place despite being one of two fit senior centre-backs for much of the campaign. However, former Inter Milan defender has named Stones as one of the world's best when talking about the quality of the Premier League and English defenders. Speaking to Daily Mail, Cordoba, who played an essential role in Inter Milan's treble-winning campaign of 2009/10, said: "I follow the Premier League and I consider it to be one of the best leagues in the world. In England I really like John Stones of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. "A very strong defender. He is a complete defender in everything he does. I think he is one of the best in the world."
