Manchester City ‘best placed’ to sign player – "Final negotiations" on the way

Manchester City are in 'final negotiations' for Semedo and he is resigned to leaving Barcelona, according to Spanish publication Sport. The report adds Barcelona are reluctant to include Joao Cancelo in the deal due to his high wages, casting doubt on the deal as City would only bring Semedo in if Cancelo departed. Semedo’s price has been set at €40m. He prefers a move to the Premier League club over other options, such as Inter Milan and Juventus. It’s important to point out that a week ago, Marca rubbished the rumours.  There’s no way City would sign him without having sold Cancelo first, so, despite the wishful thinking from the Catalan media, it looks like this one is a long way from being close.
