Manchester United are set to offer midfielder Juan Mata a new deal – months after many expected new boss Jose Mourinho to sell him, reports the Sunday Mirror.
The Spaniard, whose contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the next season, looked as though his days at Untied were numbered following Mourinho’s appointment this summer.
But, after a run of fine performances, it appears Mourinho will not do what he did during his time at Chelsea and sell the 28-year-old.
Instead, Mata is in line for bumper new contract that is likely to extend his stay at the club for another four years.
