Major boost for Tottenham as Tnaguy Ndombele allowed to leave Lyon

Lyon player Yanguy Ndombele has been a target for Tottenham and now he is free to leave the club following the arrival of Brazilian midfielder Jean Lucas. Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas had made it clear that Ndombele will soon be able to leave the club. "In terms of the chronology, before accepting the transfer of Ferland Mendy to Madrid, we signed the young international U17 Belgian, Heritier Deyonge, from PSV Eindhoven," Aulas said last week. "What I can say to you is if you see a very good box-to-box midfield youngster arrive, in the coming days, then there will be a chance that Tanguy Ndombele leaves, but for the moment, we have not received offers of the level that we feel is a just price." Spurs are believed to be leading the chase for Ndombele – Mauricio Pochettino's top target this summer - amid interest from other big European sides and Lyon have been circling other midfielders as well to bolster the middle of the park. The player is currently away on holiday and had previously said he does not expect anything to happen until he returns next month.
