Leeds United suffered a 2-0 defeat to West Ham in the FA Cup 3rd round and were eliminated from the tournament on Sunday. Youngster Lewis Bate made his Leeds United debut during the defeat. Following the game, he took to Instagram to react to his debut and the loss against the Hammers. He wrote: "Proud day for myself and my family making my Leeds United debut. An honour to wear the badge and represent this club. Wasn’t to be today but focus now turns to the league. Fans were brilliant 👏🏻 💙💛." Taking to the comments section, Luke Ayling sent a message to Bate as he wrote: "Well done lad 💙."

Bate started the game from the first minutes, however, he was replaced in the 46th minute.
