Luiz, Xhaka: Arsenal latest injury updates and team news ahead of Crystal Palace

Arsenal are set to face Crystal Palace on Wednesday, as the Premier League action continues. The Gunners head into their final two games likely playing for position with Tottenham now four points ahead in the final European spot with only six points still up for grabs. Ahead of the first of those game, we have rounded up the injury latest. David Luiz is yet to return after surgery and a hamstring injury, and there is a chance he won't make it back in time. Head coach Mikel Arteta said two weeks ago: “We don’t know. He felt something in his hamstring, so it’s not good news. “He’s put such a shift to be back for the team for the last few weeks after the knee surgery and it’s a real shame." However, recently Arteta said Luiz has made 'very good progress' and there is hope he could return for at least one of the last two games, even if it does not involve a start. Granit Xhaka has been ruled out since suffering a groin injury in the build-up to the second leg with Villarreal in the Europa League final. The club's last update claimed Xhaka "will continue to be assessed and rehabilitate the injury with the medical team over the next few days." However, the midfielder could be in doubt for the final two games, as Arsenal may not risk him given how little there is to play for.
