Luis Suarez can’t forget the ‘Anfield nightmare’: Former Liverpool striker has remembered the semi-finals again

Luis Suarez says Barcelona players couldn’t imagine they could lose to Liverpool in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals last season.  Suarez scored one of the three goals to seal a 3-0 victory at Camp Nou and Catalan side were so close to play in the first UCL final since 2015.  However, Jurgen Klopp’s side managed to produce an incredible comeback to beat Barcelona 4-0. Suarez himself had chances to score, but he couldn't beat Alisson and was left out of the final match.  “It was difficult because we didn't imagine it could happen.” Suarez told beIN Sports (via LiverpoolECHO) “It was like a terrible thing that happened to you already reoccurring. “That feeling is horrible, depressing, infuriating. “But that's football, teams can get their revenge over you and overhaul a big deficit like Liverpool did to us. “That was a big blow but hopefully that experience will strengthen us as a team and allow us to fight for all the trophies this year, including the Champions League.” he added.  Both Barcelona and Liverpool are qualified for Champions League round of 16. They still can’t face each other as both are seeded sides due to their position in the groups.
