Liverpool set firm stance on Mohamed Salah amid Chelsea links

Chelsea's chances of re-signing Mohamed Salah have been rubbished as Liverpool firm in their stance that the forward will not be sold in the summer transfer window. Salah has scored 29 goals and created five assists in 47 matches. The latest contribution came when he supplied the cross for Sadio Mane's header in Saturday night's 2-0 Premier League win over Southampton to keep Liverpool's top-four hopes alive. Bild claimed that Thomas Tuchel had placed Salah on a shortlist of attacking targets alongside Borussia Dortmund frontman Erling Haaland and Inter Milan's Romelu Lukaku, another former Chelsea player. However, The Athletic say there is no chance of Liverpool selling such a vital player to a direct rival. Chelsea look likely to secure Champions League qualification this term and have also reached the Champions League final and FA Cup final. Salah will be key for Liverpool if they are to restore their status as title challengers having scored 20 Premier League goals in three separate seasons. The Athletic insists as a result there is 'absolutely zero chance' of Salah joining Chelsea this summer because Liverpool have no plans to sell him whatsoever.
