How Liverpool could play key role in Neymar transfer saga

Paris Saint-Germain winger Neymar wants to leave the club this summer and has been strongly linked with a return to Barcelona, who he left in a world record €222 million move two years ago. His transfer saga continues to rumble and Liverpool could now play a pivotal role in the Brazilian’s future. According to Mundo Deportivo, PSG chiefs will meet with Barcelona officials in Liverpool to try to finalise a deal to send him back to the Spanish club. PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Barca president Josep Bartomeu will meet at the next European Club Association meeting, taking place on August 16. Barcelona submitted multiple offers for Neymar but PSG are unwilling to let Neymar leave on the cheap and reportedly asking for a fee of £165million. Catalan giants are unwilling to pay that much and they included Ivan Rakitic, Samuel Umtiti, Ousmane Dembele, Philippe Coutinho, Nelson Semedo and Malcom on the list, in the hopes that PSG could be swayed into accepting.
