Liverpool on alert as Serie A star set for cheaper exit

Napoli are ready to sell Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, according to reports. However, Bayern Munich want to beat the likes of Liverpool to his signature. The Senegal international has remained one of Europe’s most-watched centre-backs. The Serie A club's president Aurelio di Laurentiis insisted last summer that top clubs could snap Koulibaly up – if they offered €100million (£86million). According to Il Matino, the 29-year-old’s exit fee has changed. The report claims that Napoli want a ‘clean-cut in salaries’ amid the cost of the pandemic on the club. But while offloading other players in their squad could help, shifting Koulibaly’s €7million (£6million) yearly salary will make the most difference. Napoli are now reportedly willing to sell him for a cut-price fee. However, the same publication states that Bayern Munich have readied a €45million (£39million) offer.
