De Express: Liverpool 'in the race for £90m pair'

Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria and striker Marcus Thuram. The director of German club has admitted the club made need to sell players in the summer. Liverpool are battling it out with arch-rivals Manchester United for £45m-rated Zakaria's signature and they are also interested in Thuram, who would cost no more than 50m euros (£43-44m). Mönchengladbach director Max Eberl could see clubs try and make a move for the duo. “We have no risk of bankruptcy or the like,” Eberl told De Express. “Of course, we also have to try to make up for the deficits of millions. It will be the case that this club will continue to exist in the future.” Source: Metro
