Liverpool hold positive talks with star over new contract

Liverpool have reportedly hold talks with Georginio Wijnaldum over a contract extension of at least three years. The 29-year-old's deal at Anfield expires in June 2021 and he is keen on staying at the club, that he joined from Newcastle in 2016. According to The Guradian Jurgen Klopp's side are hopeful of a new deal with Wijnaldum after posistive talks. The midfielder is in line for a contract to 2024 or 2025, with wages not expected to be an issue. Wijnaldum wanted assurances he would continue to be regarded as a key player before entering into discussions to extend his career at the Merseyside. The news follows another Liverpool midfielder, Adam Lallana's new deal, which is a short-term contract extension in order to finish the season at Anfield. Source- The Guardian
