Liverpool eyeing transfer move for Napoli star Nikola Maksimovic

Liverpool are reportedly interested in Napoli defender Nikola Maksimovic amid an injury crisis at the backline. The Reds are currently without their star defender Virgil van Dijk who has suffered an ACL injury. Joe Gomez is also currently sidelined. Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly has long been linked with a move to Anfield, however, his price tag continues to put off potential suitors. According to Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol, Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis told presenter Jim White that Koulibaly would not be going anywhere unless they received an offer in excess of £100million. De Laurentiis also told White that the Reds had been exploring a bid for Maksimovic. It is understood that Jurgen Klopp's side are also interested in Schalke youngster Ozan Kabak. source - Metro
