Liverpool coach hails Wolves star Ruben Neves

Liverpool elite development coach Vitor Matos has praised Wolverhampton Wanderers’ star Ruben Neves. They worked together at Porto, and Matos saw the midfielder’s rise from a young prospect to the captain of the Portuguese club. Speaking to O Jogo, Matos says: “All who passed through there (Porto) made a great effort and were brilliant. But Rúben Neves is a fantastic example. I saw him grow from 13 years old to be captain of the first team. In terms of mentality, what each individual’s belief is, he was top. If training was at 10:00 am, he was in the field at 9 am to train long passes, shots, free-kicks. This already existed within him.” The 22-year-old Neves joined Wolves in 2017 for €17.9 million and since then has made 102 appearances for the club and scored 14 goals. Source- Sport Witness
