Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson to miss rest of season

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson will miss the rest of the season as a result of the knee injury he sustained against Brighton. He was forced off in the final stages of the Reds' 3-1 win at Amex Stadium on Wednesday following a seemingly innocuous challenge with Yves Bissouma. Jurgen Klopp struck a pessimistic note when asked about the issue in his post-match interview, saying: "We have to see what is with Hendo because that’s, of course, not so good news how it looks in the moment but we have to wait." However, speaking ahead of the meeting with Burnley this weekend, the German was in positive mood as he revealed that his skipper does not require surgery. Klopp on Henderson: "We all felt for him. Awful moment. We knew immediately. Hendo is an animal he fights for everything. He deals well with pain but in this moment, he knew something had happened. It was a complete mood killer." "The boys were happy with the result but then the boys realised Hendo was hurt. No surgery needed is the good news. He will lift the trophy, he deserves to lift the trophy." Source: Liverpool ECHO
