Lille manager advises Arsenal what to do to complete Nicolas Pepe’s deal

Lille manager Christophe Galtier has told Arsenal what they have to do in order to sign Nicolas Pepe from Lille this summer. The 23-year-old emerged as the stand-out talent in Ligue 1 over past 18 months by scoring 16 goals and making eight assists in the French top flight this campaign. Arsenal are expecting to strengthen the squad and Nicolas Pepe could be an ideal candidate to bolster the squad. And Lille boss Galtier has told the Gunners what is expected of them if they are to sign the Ivorian. "He has to go to a Champions League club," said the 52-year-old, in comments reported by Metro . "In my opinion, he does not need an intermediate step to go as high as possible." "Nicolas Pepe is having a great season and he will continue to improve," added Galtier, and the Frenchman also teased fans of the north London club over the player's own preference for who he could leave Lille to join. "I can see him well in a team that plays in red," said the former defender. Arsenal are competing for the Europa League. Victory in that competition would grant Arsenal a place in the Champions League next year, regardless of their finishing position in the Premier League.
