Kasper Schmeichel hopes for a prolonged career after matching Leicester City record

Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is determined to play 50 more games for Denmark as he matched Andy King as Foxes’ most-capped player. On Euro 2020 qualifier with Switzerland, the 32-year-old goalkeeper made four amazing saves letting his team to lead with 1-0. On a post-game interview Schmeichel said: "I don't know if it was my best international match – but at least it was important. It was a big motivating factor that I was not involved in the national team earlier in my career, but I am grateful to be part of it now and it makes me proud to play 50 games for my country. Now I just hope for 50 more. If I don't last five years, then I will be disappointed.” And when asked if he’s improved over recent years, he joked: “I always think I've been so good.”
