Kai Havertz Opens up On Why He Has Struggled At Arsenal Since Joining From Chelsea

Chelsea's former midfielder, Kai Havertz, reflects on his transition to Arsenal, expressing his belief that his history with Chelsea may have posed a challenge in gaining trust from the Arsenal fanbase. The £65 million transfer, marking Havertz's shift from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates, has been marked by inconsistency, mirroring his performances at Chelsea.

Despite the slow start, Havertz acknowledges the importance of fan support, emphasizing Arsenal's familial atmosphere as a motivating factor. He notes, "From the first minute that I spoke to Mikel [Arteta] about joining Arsenal, I had this feeling that he respects all of us very much, so that was also a big part of me joining the club."

Highlighting the significance of trust from the fans, especially considering his Chelsea background, Havertz conveys his determination to win over supporters through his on-field contributions. He adds, "It's always tough when you come from Chelsea because they are big rivals, so it can take weeks to get some trust from the fans. But goals and good games can help me to get it, and I will always give 100 per cent in the games and training sessions."

Acknowledging the scrutiny faced by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta for the signing, Havertz expresses gratitude for the togetherness within the club and his eagerness to contribute. "I think they will recognize this as well, which is very important. I'm really happy to be here."

As Havertz aims to justify Arteta's trust, the German player's words shed light on his commitment to integrating into the Arsenal family and making a positive impact on the pitch.
