Kai Havertz could take his favourite Chelsea shirt number

Chelsea are set to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz. The Blues are keen to reinforcements as they have already signed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner. The Germany international Havertz thought to be edging closer after advanced talks between the clubs. According to football.london, the only obstacle left for Chelsea to negotiate is Havertz's fee, with the player himself understood to be keen on a move to west London. But if the midfielder, as expected, completes his move to Chelsea, what squad number he will ask for? Havertz has worn the no.29 shirt since the 2017/18 season, while in for the German national team, he has donned no.8 and no.20. Number 29 at Chelsea is for centre-back Fikayo Tomori, but the England international has seemingly fallen out of favour under Frank Lampard after a promising start to the season. He has not played since the season restarted. Tomori could face the exit door at Stamford Bridge and his number would be available for Havertz. Source: Football.london
