Maurizio Sarri has finally given the green light to become Juventus manager after the Italian champions agreed a £7million compensation fee with Chelsea on Thursday night.
After long lasting talks Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici flew to London to try and find a resolution, on Thursday.
Sarri, 60, had two years left on his £5m-a-year Chelsea contract. And the Blues were refusing to cave into Juventus's attempts to land Sarri on the cheap. But now it's reported that a £7million compensation fee was agreed.
Despite signing a three-year deal last July, he will become the ninth full-time manager to leave the club under Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
Sarri endured consistent criticism from a significant portion of the club’s supporters but he did manage to win his first ever trophy as manager with a 4-1 victory over Arsenal in May in the Europa League final, and after the match said "he deserved" to stay with the club.
