Jurgen Klopp rates Liverpool’s chances of breaking Manchester City’s Premier League points record

Jurgen Klopp fears Liverpool have only a little chance of breaking Manchester City’s 2017/18 record of Premier League points total. The Reds became Premier League champions on Thursday after Chelsea beat City with a 2-1 score. Currently, there are 7 tours left in the league and Liverpool are leading the table with 86 points. "Getting these types of points tallies sounds pretty nice to me but I’m not sure it’s possible because six or seven of the remaining games we play in a very short period of time," said Klopp. "Every three days we will need to make a lot of changes, we need to be lucky and make sure nobody gets injured. We need to be lucky there. If a player gets injured he cannot play the next five as well so that makes it really tricky for all of us. "It is a really intense period and that’s why I wanted to win it last night, not on the pitch or wherever. We waited two-and-a-half years on that and I didn’t want to wait any longer. "That made it pretty special last night because there will be no harder work with the opponents we have. First one City then Aston Villa fighitng for staying in the league. "Then after that it could be Brighton, Burnley, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle. it’s kind of unbelievable, so they are all fighting either for Champions League or staying in the league so that will be really tough. "I don’t see that in the moment but of course we will try and if we can play like we did against Crystal Palace we can give everyone a proper game but we have to make sure we can do that." source - Metro Join us on Telegram
