Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent believes that Jose Mourinho will transform the club's chief Daniel Levy's mind ahead of January transfer window.
Mourinho is intended to spend big at Spurs, which would have been a prerequisite to joining the club, according to Bent.
Speaking to football.london, he said:
"To get someone of Mourinho's standing, Daniel Levy would have had to promise to open up the wallet. Mourinho has always spent money and he would have had assurances that he will be able to strengthen the squad in January. They will have known that."
Bent also added on Mourinho's accomplishments as Spurs boss:
"He (Mourinho) has accumulated a lot of points in a short space of time and I expected no less from someone like him. We know what he can do and his pedigree speaks for itself. They should thank their lucky stars that they got him. Now it's about doing what he does best and that's winning trophies. Can he do that at Spurs? I really do think he can."
