Jose Mourinho issues bold verdict on Antonio Conte's Tottenham appointment

Former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has hit out at the club's decision to sack Nuno Espirito Santo and replace him with Antonio Conte. Espirito Santo was sacked by Spurs on Monday morning after being in charge for just 17 games since being appointed to succeed Mourinho in the summer. Tottenham director of football Fabio Paratici has opted to bring in Conte to turn around their season, with the Italian putting pen to paper on his contract on Tuesday. However, the now Roma boss Mourinho has hit out at his former club’s decision to sack Nuno so soon into his tenure, putting his countryman’s talents on a similar level to Conte.
“I think Conte is a good coach, but Nuno is a very good coach,” Mourinho told Sky Italy ahead of Roma’s clash with Bodo/Glimt in the Europa Conference League.   “He did a fantastic job at Wolves for four, five years, not one year or a few months. Tottenham have a very good coach now, but they had that with Nuno.”
Conte’s first game as Spurs head coach will be the visit of Vitesse Arnhem in the Europa Conference League on Thursday. Source - Daily Star Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
