Jordan Henderson makes declaration about Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Speaking ahead of their pre-season friendly with Borussia Dortmund at the weekend in America Jordan Henderson paid tribute to Jurgen Klopp by asking him to stay at the club for a “a very long time”. Klopp led the club to Champions League glory last season and will look to guide his squad to further trophies. Henderson said: "He’s a special person and a special manager. "On and off pitch, he has perfect balance of being close to the players but he's still got to be ruthless and be our manager at end of the day. "Knowledge of game and how we’ve learned from him speaks for itself in what we’ve achieved in recent years. "All the lads will tell you what a fantastic manager he is to work for, what you see is what you get, hopefully he can stay here for a very long time." Henderson also claimed that winning Champions League has inspired them to continue building a winning mentality. "We want to keep on making history for this club," Henderson declared. "And we’re confident we can do that. "Keep working and focused in what we want to do. We’ve shown in last few seasons were always improving and we want to keep going on that path “We’ve improved every season. The players we’ve brought in, strength of squad, improvement of players. We have to keep learning.” "There’ll be challenges ahead, we’ll keep working hard and will use confidence from winning the Champions League to make us even better." The 52-year-old took over the club in 2015 and still has three years left on his current contract.
