Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard has reportedly told the club hierarchy he has no intention of signing a new contract because of a lack of first-team opportunities.
The 27-year-old has been linked with Aston Villa as well as a host of other clubs ahead of the January transfer window having struggled for game time.
Lingard is yet to make a single appearance in the Premier League or Champions League this season having slipped down the pecking order at Old Trafford - although he was on the bench for the defeat to RB Leipzig on Tuesday as United were knocked out of the latter competition.
Corriere dello Sport
(via the Daily Star) claims the England international has no desire extend his stay with the Red Devils when he could play more regularly elsewhere.
Lingard is out of contract in the summer and it has been suggested United could trigger a 12-month extension to keep him at the club.
