Jannik Vestergaard's red card shown in Leicester draw overturned following appeal

  Southampton defender Jannik Vestergaard's one-match ban due to a red card received in the 1-1 draw with Leicester City has been overturned following an appeal. Vestergaard was sent off just 10 minutes into the game as he was adjudged to have denied Jamie Vardy a goalscoring opportunity. An FA Spokesperson statement reads: "An independent Regulatory Commission has removed Jannik Vestergaard's one-match suspension following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal. "The Southampton FC defender was dismissed for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity during the Premier League fixture against Leicester City on Friday 30 April 2021." The Saints will face Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday.   source - Sky Sports
