Jamie Redknapp hits out at call to use Chelsea vs Tottennham VAR for Manchester City's trip to Leicester

Jamie Redknapp has hit out at the call to use David Coote as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for the second time (Chelsea vs Tottenham) in a day, after he failed to make correct decision at the Stamford Bridge match. Spurs' Giovani Lo Celso was not sent off after his stamp on Cesar Azpilicueta's leg during Chelsea's 2-1 win on Saturday, for which Coote was also in the booth at Stockley Park. VAR has since admitted it was an error for not giving the Spurs midfielder his marching orders, despite reviewing the incident for some time from multiple angles. And later Coote failed to overturn a handball claim in the game against Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne from James Maddison's free-kick. The failure to award the Foxes a penalty made Redknapp quite angry, who believes Coote could have benefited from taking the evening off. Speaking on Sky Sports, Redknapp said: "He (David Coote) had a nightmare earlier (in Chelsea v Spurs). He is not doing much better here. He needed a little rest this evening. "And he can’t see it was a red card earlier. That is a handball. He is putting his hands up to protect the moneymaker.  "Look at his hands, he is bringing his hands up to the moneymaker. You duck.  "He is the best player in the league but he does not want to get that ball in his face. It is as simple as that." Micah Richards agreed with his fellow pundit, claim that De Bruyne's hands were not in a natural position. "It is borderline because he is trying to cover his face.  "But like Jamie says they are in an unnatural position, he is trying to cover the moneymaker." Source- Daily Mail
