Jamie Carragher believes Mo Salah and Sadio Mane hold key to transfers

Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher thinks the Reds need attacking competition next term and has urged them to spend big on their attacking line when the transfer window opens. Jurgen Klopp's side have been linked with moneymaking moves for both Timo Werner and Jadon Sancho, but many have claimed that one of the front three would need to be sold for that to happen. However, Carragher doesn’t think that would be the case and believes the Reds will strengthen before they get weaker. In an interview with Viasport, Liverpool legend said: “No, they don’t need to let anybody go, they just need to add to the squad that they’ve got. "Don’t forget that Liverpool never signed a player last summer so you would think there is a lot of money there waiting to be spent. “Jurgen Klopp is maybe just waiting that another yet on, some players have got another year older and then he can maybe refresh it. “He gave [Divock] Origi a new contract so he couldn’t go and buy a new player on the back of that.” Merseyside club are set to lose Salah and Mane to the African Cup of Nations next January, and according to Carragher, that will be in Klopp’s mind when he weighs up bringing in some new faces this summer. “Now I definitely think it’s time for Liverpool to reinforce, certainly in the attack,” he added. “It will keep the front three on their toes but also rotate them, maybe rotate them and also you’ve got to think about the African Cup of Nations. “I think it’s almost certain that Liverpool sign a top attacking player, it’s just who.” Source- Daily and Sunday Express
