James Pearce reveals Liverpool's plans after Ibrahima Konate transfer

Journalist James Pearce has delivered a summer transfer window claim about Liverpool and their attack. The Reds have been heavily linked with the move for RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konate for the upcoming transfer window, while now Pearce claims the club are eager to go for a new attacking option, following the defender's transfer. “The big thing is further forward. I think that’s the big takeaway for me. Regardless of what happens in the next few weeks and whether Liverpool get top four or not. They are an elite attacker short if they’re serious about challenging for the big trophies next season, they need to have another option,” the journalist said. “The drop off in production from Mane and Firmino this season has been so alarming that they need another option up there to ease the burden on Mo Salah, because so much of it will be on his shoulders, so Liverpool will definitely, I’ve got no doubt that we won’t have to endure another season like this one, but there’s work to be done and to a large extent being able to do that work hinges on the financial might that comes with being in the Champions League.”
