Alan Shearer thinks FA Cup should be included in the new fixture schedule as well

Alan Shearer has sent a message over Premier League and FA Cup restart. Top clubs returned to training last week, however, the decision of returning to contact training is yet to be discussed on Wednesday when the clubs will vote on it. Meanwhile, they will also meet on Thursday to talk about the details of a league restart. But if the Premier League season is set to resume, Magpies legend thinks FA Cup should be included in the new fixture schedule as well. When asked if the competition should be forgotten about, Shearer said: “No, definitely not. And I’m not just saying it because Newcastle are in the quarter-finals - and are normally long since out! If we are getting the league campaign done then we can get the FA Cup finished. There’s only one more round and then it’s a neutral venue for the semis and final anyway - normally Wembley. All eight teams left are from the Premier League, so I’m sure it could be fitted into the schedule. It’s important to get it finished.”
