Tim Sherwood reckons Gareth Bale was "struggling to breathe" against West Ham

Tim Sherwood believes Gareth Bale is not ready to start games for Tottenham, following the club's 3 - 3 draw with West Ham at the weekend. The Wales international has made his second debut on Sunday with around 20 minutes to go. Despite his efforts, Spurs faced a late equalizer, with Hammers' Manuel Lanzini netting the third goal for his side. And speaking about Bale's fitness, Sherwood revealed the player is "struggling to breathe" against the rivals. He told talkSPORT: “Gareth Bale needs to get fit; obviously when he came on he had that one lung-busting run, his shot went past the post and when you saw his face after that he was struggling to breathe – he needs to get back to fitness, he’s not ready to start at the moment.”
