“He’s got bags of energy up and down the pitch” Ex-Premier League player says Ajax star will improve Everton

Former Birmingham City and Hull City player Alex Bruce believes Everton will become a better team if they sign Donny van de Beek from Ajax.  Van de Beek has reportedly been linked with a possible move to Goodison Park this summer. Carlo Ancelotti is personally interested in signing the 23-year-old midfielder, French media outlet Le10Sport claims.  Newcastle United and Real Madrid are also interested in Van de Beek, which means Toffees will face a tough battle for signing the Ajax star.  “I think when you get a player like van de Beek he’ll get in the team because he’s a very good player.” Bruce told Football Insider. “He’s got bags of energy up and down the pitch, I’ve seen a fair bit of him in that very good Ajax team that we saw last year so he’s one hell of a player, a good age as well. “By getting the likes of van de Beek, if they can get players of that calibre, the only way is up for Everton. They will definitely improve the team.” Van de Beek’s market value has dropped to €44 mln from €55 mln after the coronavirus pandemic.  He has scored 8 goals and provided 6 assists in 23 Eredivisie matches.
