He was on the same level as Jordan, in terms of competitiveness: Paul Pierce - on his former teammate
Paul Pierce says Kevin Garnett was on the same level with Michael Jordan in terms of competitiveness.
KG joined Pierce at Boston in 2007. They won the league in their first season, beating the Los Angeles Lakers in the finals 4-2. That time, Celtics were one of the strongest teams in the NBA, reaching the final one more time in 2010 and always being one of the leaders in the Eastern Conference.
When asked whether they have played with a teammate, that always pushed them to become better and improve, Pierce mentioned Garnett.
“I think I played with the most competitive player. I can put his competitiveness on the same level as (Michael) Jordan’s. That’s Kevin Garnett. He practiced every day like it was a game.” Pearce said during ESPN’s NBA Countdown.
“He pushed his teammates, talked to them during the practices, like Jordan. He was ready to fight, if you don’t practice hard. And he showed it again in the game. I appreciate that I had somebody to help, push me to another level. Later in my career I wish I could have him. I put him on the same level as Michael Jordan in terms of competitiveness”
