Harry Redknapp suggests Tottenham’s problems run deeper than the manager

Harry Redknapp has leapt to the defence of Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho for the club’s current poor form. Jose Mourinho has won first three matches with Spurs, after being appointed as head coach, however, they failed to beat Southampton, Norwich City and Middlesbrough in recent outings. Mourinho’s problems have been magnified with injuries to key players including star striker Harry Kane and club record signing Tanguy Ndombele. In an interview with Sky Sports, Redknapp suggested that Spurs problems lie deeper. "Tottenham, they’re going through a funny little, well quite a long, spell when you look at it", he said. “The last 25 games with Poch in charge the form was for whatever reason, they were going along so well and then suddenly that big run of bad form. And the form at the moment has been up and down too really. “Jose has gone in there, we know his record, it’s incredible, but no-one’s got a magic wand and at the moment it seems the team just doesn’t look right. “Bad result the other day at Southampton, a couple of iffy performances, lucky to get away with it at Norwich.” Tottenham are set to face Premier League leaders Liverpool, that are still unbeaten in the top flight this season, on Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
