Top 6 players who left Tottenham for Manchester United

Recently Tottenham star Harry Kane has been linked with the move to a number of clubs. Yet, the forward's comments over his future at the club raised the talks over his possbile transfer. Manchester United is considered as one of the clubs likely to be the next destination of the England international. However, he's not the first Tottenham player on his way to join the Red Devils. Here are the top 6 Spurs players, who ended up moving to Old Trafford over the years.

Michael Carrick

After joining Tottenham from West Ham for just £3.5m in 2004, the midfielder enjoyed two impressive seasons with the Spurs. However, later he found his playing time limited under Jacques Santini but became a key man playing in charge of Martin Jol. During the 2005/06 season Tottenham failed to finish on the top four of the Premier League. Alan Brazil

Brazil made his professional debut at Ipswich, spending six years at the club and leading the team to the UEFA Cup win in 1981. Three years later he won the same title with the Spurs, in spite of being out of the matchday squad for both legs of the final versus Anderlecht. Teddy Sheringham

Sheringham spent five impressive years with Tottenham, winning the Premier League Golden Boot in his debut season at the club. During his playing time he recoreded 98 goals in 197 appearances for the Spurs. The England international joined United in 1997 for a £3.5m transfer fee. Though having some difficulties in his first season at Old Trafford, during the second season the forward managed to contribute in Sir Alex Ferguson's side title win. Chris McGrath

McGrath was a Tottenham academy player back in 1972 and managed to play 46 times for the first team squad. The following year, the Belfast-born winger became a star, scoring five goals for the Spurs and leading his side to the UEFA Cup win. After playing on loan for Millwall in 1975/76, McGrath joined United with a permanent deal. Dimitar Berbatov

Berbatov was considered to be a Tottenham star, scoring 23 goals in each of his two campaigns with the club. However, he cut ties with the Spurs and moved to Old Trafford on September 1st of 2008, after dropping for games against Sunderland and Chelsea. Garth Crooks

Crooks was a key figure in Tottenham squad, joining the team back in 1980. The striker recorded 75 goals in 183 games for the club, while his brilliant partnership with Steve Archibald was impressive. Crooks also helped the Spurs win two FA Cups and the UEFA Cup.
