Gremio chief Romildo Bolzan has revealed Carlo Ancelotti wanted to sign Everton Soares during his time at Napoli.  Soares, 24, is one of the most valuable players in Brazil and has attracted several clubs from European top leagues, including the Toffees.  “The truth is that last summer, Everton’s representative told me that he had a proposal from Napoli in his hands, where Ancelotti was there, who was his great admirer. But then from Naples to Gremio, in the end nothing official ever came,” Bolzan told Area Napoli (cited by Sport Witness). “There had been some contacts, mainly with the player. Ancelotti himself had contacted him. “However, Everton withdrew even before making a real offer. From what I was told, it was because of some financial issues at that stage. We’ll see if they try to resume the discussion in the future.” he added.  Earlier, it has been reported by Globo Esporte that Carlo Ancelotti has told the club owners to sign Everton Soares from Gremio.  The 24-year-old forward has scored 69 goals in 268 matches for his club. Everton has also become Copa America - 2019 top scorer, becoming one of the best players of the tournament.
