Gerard Pique fires another shot at Roger Federer

Barcelona star Gerard Pique believes twenty-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer will not participate in the Davis Cup because he sees it as a threat. Pique has hevily invested in Davis Cup, while Federer launched the Laver Cup two years ago. Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have agreed to represent their countries in Madrid. Federer, meanwhile, has openly admitted he wants nothing to do with the November event. "I think Federer sees the Davis Cup as a tournament that competes with his competition, the Laver Cup,” Pique told Spanish radio programme El Larguero. "We started talking to his agent,” Pique attempted to reaffirm. “I think it was a close relationship, we talked about inviting Switzerland to one of the two guest selections. Then we were surprised by the statements he made. I wouldn't mind if Federer came and wanted to change something from the Champions League."
