Georginio Wijnaldum speaks out on his contract situation at Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has spoken out on his contract situation at the Reds as it expires at the end of this season. The 30-year-old has made overall 38 appearances in which he has scored 3 goals. The Reds are preparing to face RB Leipzig in the Champions League round of 16 second leg game on Wednesday. Speaking ahead of the game, Wijnaldum said: "I want to answer them all for you but at the moment there is no news as it is right now. So I would lie if I came with news. "The only thing I can say is that I’m really happy at the club. "I’m really happy with the team, the staff and really happy with the fans. "That’s the only thing I can say, it’s not that I’m not happy and I have to leave or something like that. "It’s not that easy as everyone thinks it is to make some decisions for your future because you have to think about everything. "First you have to negotiate with the club and those kinds of things. It’s so difficult to deal with all kind of things, that’s why I think it takes so long. "I also think the situation we’re in is not the most important thing. The most important thing is to get back on track, to start winning games. "Until now the only thing I can say is that I’m really happy here as you’ve just asked me. Happy with the fans, happy with the team, happy with the staff, with our work rate, my family is happy here, but aside from that there is no news." Asked how difficult it would be to leave Liverpool, Wijnaldum replied: "Really difficult because if that happened you’d leave a team who you really love, a team you’ve shared a lot of years together, where you feel really comfortable. "That will be difficult but on the other side you know the situation why you have to leave. "It always depends on the situation. But I would be devastated if I don’t play with this team any more, that will be for sure."   source - Metro /  Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
